Billing and Pro Plan
ExtraBrain is built around a simple model:
- the core product is free to use
- there is no subscription required for the baseline product
- you can use on-device AI where compatible hardware supports it
- you use your current provider subscription, account, or API key when you choose external providers
- external provider usage is billed by those providers, not bundled into ExtraBrain
- Pro adds saved prompt presets, custom profiles, richer session history, post-session summaries, premium model controls where enabled, and advanced workflow controls
- enterprise support starts with a direct conversation about team rollout, policy, deployment, and workflow needs
Free core product
Section titled “Free core product”You can download and use ExtraBrain without paying for a subscription to the core app experience. You can use on-device AI where compatible hardware supports it, or connect the external model providers you want to use.
This means:
- the app itself is free by default
- core access does not require a recurring subscription
- on-device AI requires compatible hardware and may not be available in every customer environment
- external usage costs come from the AI providers whose keys you connect
- local transcription can be used where supported, while optional Deepgram remains a provider-side choice
Use local AI or your current provider access
Section titled “Use local AI or your current provider access”ExtraBrain does not bundle AI credits into the free product. If compatible hardware is available, on-device AI can provide live answers, transcript-aware help, or deeper analysis locally. If you choose an external provider, you connect your current provider subscription, account, or API key.
Your setup depends on hardware support and the models or providers you want to use.

Pro plan
Section titled “Pro plan”Pro is the upgrade path for people who want more control over repeated live workflows beyond the free core product.
Use Pro language for things like:
- saved prompt presets for interviews, meetings, lectures, and research calls
- custom profiles for repeated workflows
- richer session history across transcripts, notes, and saved facts
- post-session summaries for decisions, risks, follow-ups, and review
- premium model controls where enabled
- advanced workflow controls for live prompting and session follow-through
The important distinction is that Pro pricing is separate from provider usage costs. Even with Pro, you use on-device AI where compatible hardware supports it or your current provider subscription, account, or API key unless the product explicitly says otherwise.

Section titled “Is ExtraBrain free?”Yes. The core Mac product is free to download and use today.
Do I need a paid AI provider?
Section titled “Do I need a paid AI provider?”Not necessarily. On-device AI can run locally on compatible hardware. If you choose an external provider, that provider’s subscription, quota, billing, and retention settings apply.
Does Pro include provider credits?
Section titled “Does Pro include provider credits?”No. Pro workflow features are separate from external provider usage costs unless ExtraBrain explicitly says otherwise in a future plan.
When should I ask about Enterprise?
